The initial concept was of a residential development designed in harmony with nature, and this admirable idea was explored by many of the day’s notable Bay Area architects and designers, among them Joseph Esherick, William Turnbull, Charles Moore, Lawrence Halprin, Barbara Stauffacher Solomon, and Donlyn Lyndon. Lovely houses continue to be built there by architects such as Obie Bowman and Turnbull’s legacy firm, Turnbull Griffin Haesloop.
