The full panel for the Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN) Residential Industry Forum at the AIA’18 Conference on Architecture in New York City next month has been announced. The session takes place on Thursday, June 21, from 1:30-3:00 pm, at the Javitz Center, Room 1A21, W. 35th Street & 11th Avenue. Register for the full conference here and see the AIA course information for the CRAN session here.
S. Claire Conroy, editor in chief of Residential Design, will moderate the panel of six talented and accomplished architects, including John DeForest, AIA, DeForest Architects, Seattle, Wash.; Michael Frederick, AIA, Frederick + Frederick Architects, Beaufort, S.C.; Mark Larson, AIA, Rehkamp Larson Architects, Minneapolis, Minn.; Dan Maginn, FAIA, DRAW Architecture, Kansas City, Kan.; Jennifer Mowery Marsh, AIA, Mowery Marsh Architects, Hoboken, NJ; Viola Rouhani, AIA, Stelle Lamont Rouhani Architects, Bridgehampton, N.Y. (John DeForest and Mark Larson will be joining remotely.) The wide-ranging discussion will touch on many subjects of vital importance to residential architects and small-to-medium-sized firms of diverse practice. Audience participation will be encouraged, so bring your hot topics and burning questions.
The forum will also introduce attendees to a new offering from CRAN, a network of peer-to-peer groups to share best practice information and skill-building insights. If you’ve been wanting a support network of fellow custom residential practitioners in non-competing markets, this will be your chance to get the lowdown on joining one.
There are many other sessions and tours of interest to residential architects at AIA’18 this year. See our full write-up here.
